The Hoy Story

Since 1993 our company has hosted a charity golf tournament to benefit Boys and Girls Club of South Hampton Roads and Junior Achievement of Greater Hampton Roads. In 1997 the event was renamed the Hap Hoy Memorial Golf Tournament in honor of the founder and we have carried on the tradition set forth by Hap by matching the proceeds from the tournament and splitting them equally between the two charities. The 15th annual memorial tournament was held on September 16, 2011 and raised $14,800. With Hoy's matching contribution a total of $29,600 was donated.

Hoy Construction employees also participate in other charity events each year such as the Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon and have completed a number of charitable projects for agencies including CANDII House, the Kid's Cove at Mt. Trashmore, Hope House, D'Art Center, Goodwill Industries, and Seaton House. Our senior staff have also held advisory and leadership roles for BB&T, Monarch Bank, Junior Achievement, EVMS Strelitz Diabetes Center, The Boys and Girls Club, Cosmopolitan Club, Goodwill Industries, The Builder's and Contractor's Exchange, D'Art Center, Exchange Club and the United Way.
